Mrs. Ryan Revel is an 8th grade science teacher at Sussex Central Middle School in Georgetown, Delaware as well as a teacher for the DelTech Upward Bound and Classic Bound summer programs. Mrs. Revel introduced GIS to her 8th grade classroom, and 124 of her students completed two hands-on GIS lessons in the 2006-2007 school year. Ryan has a great deal of compassion for her students and really wanted to find new ways for her students to learn and retain what they were learning. She was extremely impressed with all her students, which ranged from advanced to special need classes. Ryan said they loved that GIS is different from anything that have ever learned before.
